Hasti exploring Denmark for My Danish Camp

Hi, I’m Hasti đź‘‹

I definitely didn’t grow up as an experienced camper.I tried camping and hiking for the first time a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. Then, somehow, I managed not to go camping again for almost two years.
Fast forward to planning our summer holiday. My boyfriend and I were deciding where to go, and I suddenly had an idea: instead of staying in hotels like we usually do, why not travel around Denmark, sleep outdoors, and actually experience the places we visit?
And that’s pretty much how this whole camping adventure started.

Then Came the Planning…

The idea sounded simple enough: pack the car, grab some camping gear and explore Denmark.
Of course, being fairly new to camping, there was one tiny problem.

We had absolutely loads to figure out.

Where could we camp? What were the rules? What did we actually need to bring?
Which campsites were worth visiting? And what were we forgetting that we’d only discover once we were already standing in the middle of nowhere?

So I started researching. A lot.

Why I Started My Danish Camp

While planning our trips, I quickly realized that finding clear camping information specifically for Denmark wasn’t always easy.

Rules and useful information were scattered across different websites, while much of the camping advice I found online was written for the US, where things can work quite differently.
I kept wishing there was one place with practical information for people who simply want to camp and explore Denmark.

So I decided to create the resource I had been looking for myself. And that’s how My Danish Camp began.

What You’ll Find Here

My Danish Camp is where I share what we’re discovering along the way, as someone who’s learning by actually doing it.

You’ll find our camping trips, beautiful places, practical beginner guides, useful discoveries and, of course, a few questionable packing decisions.

Hopefully, what we learn along the way makes camping and exploring Denmark a little easier for you too.
